[ARCHIVED] Citizens Police Academy

grapevine police CSIs in front of monitor for citizens police academy

If true crime tops your television watch list, then clear your Thursday evenings because we are now accepting applications for our next citizen’s police academy.

Learn first-hand about our basic police procedures. These include topics such as: Patrol operations, criminal investigations, crime scene investigations, firearms training, K-9 operations, use of force issues, jail procedures, community relations programs, our court system, and even telecommunications.

The behind-the-scenes look in our criminal justice system takes place during a nine-week period starting February 22. Classes will meet weekly on Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. Some classes may finish earlier depending on the subject.

This endeavor, designed to strengthen communication between our department and the community we serve, has been going strong for many seasons. To date, we have hosted 43 graduating classes.

Our academy is open at no cost to those living and/or working in Grapevine. The application deadline is February 9, 2024. You can submit an online application here. Please Email Sergeant Todd Hildebrandt at thildebrandt@grapevinetexas.gov should you have any questions regarding the class.
