Trash & Recycling Collection - Resumes This Week
Due to current roadway conditions, recycling will be collected next week. Normal bulk routes will NOT take place this week, and normal trash collection routes will resume this THURSDAY and FRIDAY.
CHEERS to our Public Works Crews
Behind every treated roadway and safer intersection is a dedicated Public Works crewmember working through the cold. We extend our deepest thanks to our Public Works crews, who work tirelessly—on 24-hour shifts—to help keep our roadways as safe as possible during winter weather events. While we never encourage unnecessary travel during winter storms, we recognize that many essential employees—first responders, healthcare workers, airport personnel, and others—must still report to work. These dedicated Public Works professionals work day and night to treat major intersections, elevated roadways, bridges, crossings, and steep hills throughout our community with a sand-salt mixture to improve traction and help reduce ice buildup. In addition, they treat parking lots at our police department, fire stations, and hospitals to ensure that first responders and medical professionals can safely access their facilities when they are needed most. While this treatment is effective, ice can still prevail when temperatures fall below 20 degrees. Even so, their efforts significantly reduce risk and help keep our community moving safely. We are incredibly grateful for their hard work, long hours, and unwavering commitment to our public safety.
