City Offices & Facility Closures & Trash Collection
In observance of the Christmas holiday and New Year’s Day, the Grapevine Public Library will close at 5 pm on Tuesday, December 23. All City offices and facilities, The REC, and the library will be closed on Wednesday, December 24, Thursday, December 25, and Thursday, January 1. All essential services will operate normally.
Trash and recyclables will not be collected on December 25, Christmas Day. Trash and recyclables collection will shift from Thursday to Friday, and those on a Thursday schedule will shift to Friday, and Friday to Saturday. The trash and recyclables collection will be conducted in the same manner New Year’s week. Please plan accordingly while crews collect your items the day after your normally scheduled collection day.
Christmas on Main Street — Closures to Vehicular Traffic
To enhance pedestrian safety throughout Main Street related to the Christmas Capital of Texas® festivities, Historic Main Street will be closed to regular vehicular traffic from the intersection of Main Street at Northwest Highway to the intersection of Main Street at Dallas Road through the upcoming weekend.
Closure Schedule:
• Friday, December 19 | Main Street will close at 6 am
• Monday, December 22 | Main Street will reopen at 6 am
• Friday, December 26 | Main Street will close at 6 am
• Monday, December 29 | Main Street will reopen at 6 am

Christmas Fun at Grapevine Animal Services - through Tuesday, December 23
Community members of all ages are invited to visit Grapevine Animal Services and enjoy an open hot cocoa and coffee bar while decorating ornaments to adorn our Christmas tree. Our furry friends’ Christmas lists include treats, towels, toys, and blankets.

Children will enjoy Christmas-themed cartoons and crafts all month long. Classics like A Charlie Brown Christmas, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas, and many more will be shown throughout the month. The Christmas crafts include ornaments, snowman crafts, reindeer crafts, picture frame magnets, and more. The children’s ticket includes a craft activity, a small popcorn, and a beverage (juice box or bottled water). The adult’s ticket includes a beverage (juice box or bottled water). Ice Skating at Peace Plaza Ice Rink - through Tuesday, January 6
‘Tis the season to be in the Christmas Capital of Texas®. Experience the Peace Plaza Ice Rink, presented by Baylor Scott & White - Grapevine, and glide across the ice on this Texas sized 4,500-square-foot outdoor ice-skating rink on Historic Main Street. All skate sessions are one-hour with 15-minute breaks (between sessions) for exiting and entering skaters.
