City Offices & Facility Closures & Trash Collection 
In observance of the Christmas holiday and New Year’s Day, the Grapevine Public Library will close at 5 pm on Tuesday, December 23. All City offices and facilities, The REC, and the library will be closed on Wednesday, December 24, Thursday, December 25, and Thursday, January 1. All essential services will operate normally.  

Trash and recyclables will not be collected on December 25, Christmas Day. Trash and recyclables collection will shift from Thursday to Friday, and those on a Thursday schedule will shift to Friday, and Friday to Saturday. The trash and recyclables collection will be conducted in the same manner New Year’s week. Please plan accordingly while crews collect your items the day after your normally scheduled collection day.   

Christmas on Main Street — Closures to Vehicular Traffic 
To enhance pedestrian safety throughout Main Street related to the Christmas Capital of Texas® festivities, Historic Main Street will be closed to regular vehicular traffic from the intersection of Main Street at Northwest Highway to the intersection of Main Street at Dallas Road through the upcoming weekend.   

Due to the success of Historic Main Street weekend closures, we are now extending the closure to include Christmas week beginning Tuesday, December 23 through Monday morning, December 29 for everyone to enjoy full pedestrian access to Main Street businesses!

CHRISTMAS CAPITAL OF TEXAS® EVENTS   

Grapevine Christmas Market – through Tuesday, December 30    
Shop locally and regionally sourced jewelry, wood turnings, produce, baked goods, local cheese, nuts, gift baskets, and more at this open-air European-style market. A Handmade Christmas at Nash Farm – through December 30
Join Nash Farmhands by the wood-burning stove to bake cookies in the Historic Nash Farm Kitchen, and through Sunday, December 14, handprint your own Christmas cards, just in time to send to loved ones. Tickets are available at GrapevineTexasUSA.com. 
Dates: through December 30 (except December 24, 25 & 26)

Ice Skating at Peace Plaza Ice Rink - through Tuesday, January 6  
‘Tis the season to be in the Christmas Capital of Texas®. Experience the Peace Plaza Ice Rink, presented by Baylor Scott & White - Grapevine, and glide across the ice on this Texas sized 4,500-square-foot outdoor ice-skating rink on Historic Main Street. All skate sessions are one-hour with 15-minute breaks (between sessions) for exiting and entering skaters.

Classic Christmas Movies at the Palace Theatre - through Tuesday, January 6

Hometown Christmas Exhibit – through Tuesday, January 6
Experience the charm and spirit of a classic American town preparing for Christmas in this interactive Christmas exhibition. Take a walk down memory lane by visiting Grapevine's Hometown Christmas exhibit! Christmas is a wonderful time of year; the sights, the sounds and the smells make it easy to get swept away in the memories of it all. Grapevine's Hometown Christmas exhibit will have plenty of picture-perfect moments while becoming a holiday must, that will delight the child in all of us.
