May 3 City Council Election Unofficial Results
The unofficial results of the May 3 City Council election are: 
City Council Place 3 – Leon Leal - total votes: 3,975 

City Council Place 4 – Brandon Rener - total votes: 1,743 
City Council Place 4 – Sean Shope - total votes: 3,593

City Councilmember Leon Leal, Place 3, was reelected for a third term and will be sworn in on Tuesday, May 20. Mr. Leal is the City Council liaison to the Convention and Visitors Advisory Board and the Metroport Teen Court Advisory Board.  He serves on the City Council Facilities and Audit Committees as well. Mr. Leal and his wife, Tracy, have lived in Grapevine for 33 years and have three grown sons.  

Sean Shope was elected to Place 4 and will also be sworn in as the newest member of the Grapevine City Council on May 20. Mr. Shope has a long history of community service, including serving as the Chairman of the Historic Preservation Commission, the GCISD Education Foundation Board, GRACE Board of Directors and is a member of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce. He has a 30-year career in banking and finance. Mr. Shope and his wife, Paula, have been Grapevine residents for 27 years, and they have one daughter.  

The City Council will canvass the election on May 14, and the results will be official at that time.

Neal McCoy will headline the Arca Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Main Stage Friday, May 16 at 9 pm. Kicking things off is rising Texas country artist Colton Rice, whose fresh sound and down-home style set the perfect stage for an unforgettable night of music starting at 7 pm.

Congressional Student Art Competition at Grapevine Tower Gallery – Thursday, May 1 – Tuesday, May 13 - FREE 
Each Spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide visual art competition. The Congressional Art Competition is open to all public, private, and home-schooled high school students. On display, beginning May 1, will be art from students in the 24th Congressional District of Texas which encompasses parts of Dallas and Tarrant Counties.
