Positive West Nile Virus Mosquito Samples
Two mosquito samples tested positive for carrying the West Nile Virus. Due to repeat positive mosquito samples, mosquito control ground spraying will be conducted within a one-mile radius of the 2700 block of Whitby Lane on three consecutive nights beginning at 9pm on Wednesday, August 7, Thursday, August 8, and Friday, August 9. Mosquito control ground spraying will be conducted within a one-mile radius of the 1800 block of Hall-Johnson Road on Friday, August 9 beginning at 9pm. Roadway Repairs - Temporary Lane Closure
Pavement repairs and replacement work will be conducted on South Dooley Street between Franklin Street and Worth Street beginning Monday, August 5. Crews will be working in the northbound lane daily through Monday, August 12. Please expect delays and allow extra time if traveling through this area.
Keep Grapevine Beautiful Gives Grant – September 3 – October 8
The Keep Grapevine Beautiful Gives Grant provides funding for litter prevention, waste reduction, and/or beautification projects. Your school, business, or organization may receive up to $5,000 to assist with your project. Examples of previous projects include the purchase of water bottle filling stations, trash carts, and landscape improvements. Applications will be accepted through October 3 for the Keep Grapevine Beautiful Gives Grant program, sponsored by Sam Pack’s Five Star Subaru-Grapevine. Carol of Lights Vendor Applications Now Being Accepted
Applications are now being accepted from food and merchant vendors for the 36th Annual Carol of Lights event. Dallas Photography Summit brings you "The Fine Art of Portraiture" with Sarah Edmunds. Sarah is an internationally renowned photographer, a Fellow of The Societies of Photographers in the UK and Master of Wedding and Portrait Photographers International. She is a print competition judge for both. This workshop will be two intensive days of learning. Sarah will take you deep into the Fine Art of Portraiture, to 'see' the light, learn the art of posing, and understand her stylized post-production techniques & printing.
