Mayor William D. Tate’s Memoir, My Barefoot Days – Author Visit and Book Signing
My Barefoot Days, a new book by William D. Tate, will take you on a tender and deeply personal journey back in time to the childhood of William D. Tate as he grew up in Grapevine, Texas in the first half of the twentieth century. Before becoming mayor at age 30 and dutifully serving his hometown for forty-seven years, Tate was a bright-eyed child finding adventure on his family's farm and on the pleasant streets of a blossoming Grapevine. This book is as much a memoir as it is a portrayal of the hope and unity of small-town America, and how close-knit communities such as Grapevine come to shape us as individuals.
Join us for a visit from author Mayor William D. Tate, followed by a book signing on Saturday, January 27 at 10:30 am at the Grapevine Public Library, 1201 Municipal Way. The books will be available at the event or you may pre-purchase your copy at bit.ly/4aAJzCK for a $20 donation. All proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Library. Purchases made at the event will be open to Venmo, Paypal, cash, or check payments.
