City Offices & Facility Closures  
All city administration offices and the Grapevine Public Library will be closed on Monday, September 4 in observance of the Labor Day holiday. The REC will be open 5 am – 5 pm. Trash and recycling collection will not be affected. All essential services will operate normally.   

Keep Grapevine Beautiful Gives Grant – September 1 – October 3  
The Keep Grapevine Beautiful Gives Grant provides funding for litter prevention, waste reduction, and/or beautification projects. Your school, business, or organization may receive up to $5,000 to assist with your project. Examples of previous projects include the purchase of water bottle filling stations, trash carts, and landscape improvements. Applications will be accepted from September 1 through October 3 for the Keep Grapevine Beautiful Gives Grant program, sponsored by Sam Pack’s Five Star Subaru-Grapevine. Annual Maintenance at The REC – Modified Hours September 4 through September 10    
The REC, 1175 Municipal Way, will be open Monday, September 4, from 5 am to 5 pm. The REC will be CLOSED beginning Tuesday, September 5 through Sunday, September 10 for their annual maintenance. During this maintenance week, tag @GoGrapevine in a post while at a Grapevine park or working out outdoors for a chance to win a $100 REC store credit! 

Annual Parks and Recreation Survey  
The Parks and Recreation team would like your input! Please take part in this two-minute, five-question survey to assist them in knowing what Parks and Recreation services work best for you. Classic Cartoons & Crafts – Tuesday, September 5
Bring the little ones to watch classic cartoons while making a fun craft at the Lancaster Theatre. The children’s ticket includes a craft activity, classic cartoons, a small popcorn, and a drink (bottled water or juice box). Adult ticket includes classic cartoons and a bottled water or juice box.  The Smurfs will be the featured cartoon and the crafts will be a hedgehog magnet, and a sunflower flower pot. Learn About 2-1-1 Texas United Way  - Wednesday, September 13  
2-1-1 Texas is a free, anonymous, social service hotline, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Join us to learn more about  2-1-1 and how United Way helps with disasters and what the State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry is all about. Navigating the 211texas.org website will also be reviewed.

Keep Grapevine Beautiful - Fall Sweep - Saturday, September 23   
Make an impact in your community by joining Fall Sweep, our biggest volunteer cleanup event of the year – and help keep Grapevine beautiful! Volunteers work together to help keep our parks, shoreline, and waterways litter free.  All supplies for this event will be provided. Afterward, we will meet for lunch and participants will be eligible for prize drawings. Cleanup locations will be announced on Monday, September 18. Intro to Archery – September 6 – September 27
Take aim and explore the dynamic sport of archery through various challenges, games, and activities. This introductory course will turn a young beginner archer into a seasoned one. Participants will learn the steps of shooting, range safety, form, and equipment of archery.  All equipment is provided. Registration is now open at GoGrapevine.com.

Sunset Live! at The Botanical Gardens – Friday, October 6 & Saturday, October 7 - FREE General Admission & VIP Tickets Now Available
Join the Grapevine Parks and Rec crew for Sunset Live! at the Botanical Gardens, 411 Ball Street on Friday, October 6 and Saturday, October 7 for a live music journey down memory lane.  Enjoy some of the best classic live music featuring your favorite genres each night.  Bring the family or a date, and your picnic blanket or chairs for an evening under the stars. Children will enjoy the Kidz Zone filled with fun, complimentary activities for their age groups.  

Food, beer, and wine will also be available for purchase for those who do not bring their own picnic. VIP tickets are available at GoGrapevine.com/event/sunsetlive/. The VIP experience offers the Bessie Mitchell House as your private event space, with light fare (appetizers), two beverage tickets, early access to the gardens, and reserved seating. VIP tickets are limited and will not be sold at the door. Free, general admission tickets will be available at the event. Doors open at 5:30 pm daily for VIP tickets and 6:30 pm for general admission. Live music will begin at 7 pm.

Intro to Fly Fishing – October 9 – October 30 
This introductory course will take the most novice fishing enthusiast and turn them into a seasoned fly fisherman. Introduction to Fly Fishing will take you through the basics of equipment, forward casting, and back casting with ample hands-on experience with a veteran fly-fishing instructor. Grapevine Farmers & Artisan Market - Every Saturday through September 9 - FREE  
The Grapevine Farmers and Artisan Market is an open-air market in Historic Downtown Grapevine offering fresh Texas produce, baked goods, custom jewelry, artisan craftworks and, handcrafted Texas-made items. It is a great place to bring the whole family, learn about Texas products, and shop locally.
