City Unveils New Software Assisting the Visually Impaired 
We are excited to unveil this exciting feature that assists the visually impaired while visiting our City website. With nearly one million visitors this year, our City website is now even more user-friendly and all-inclusive than before. Once a user clicks the “universal sign for website accessibility” (round, purple icon on the lower left of every page throughout our entire City website, GrapevineTexas.gov), they will be able to adjust fonts, font sizing, change text spacing, cursor size, contrast, highlight elements, and this software also boasts a focus feature. Additionally, this software also assists those who are color blind by converting the entire site to colors that they can see. 

Mosquito Control Ground Spraying – Begins Tonight
A positive mosquito sample carrying the West Nile Virus was detected in the 2400 block of Mustang Drive. Mosquito control ground spraying will be conducted within a one-mile radius of this area for three consecutive nights: Wednesday, July 26; Thursday, July 27; and Friday, July 28 beginning at 9 pm each night. SPECIAL OFFICE HOURS For Residents to Obtain Children’s Birth Certificates for GCISD Back-to-School
To accommodate those in need of obtaining their child’s birth certificate to enroll them in the new school year, and in conjunction with the GCISD Back-to-School Fair taking place on Saturday, August 5, the City’s Vital Record Office will have special office hours on Saturday, August 5 from 7:30 to 10:30am to issue birth certificates. GRACE School Supply Drive – Through July 31
Drop off new school supplies at The REC during the month of July and receive a one-day, guest pass. All donations benefit the GRACE School Supply Drive. Limit one guest pass per donation.

Canine Microchipping Event – Saturday, August 12
On Saturday, August 12 from 9 am to 12 pm, dog owners are invited to have their dog microchipped for only $10 by Grapevine Animal Services at the Grapevine Bark Park at Bear Creek Park, Texas 360 Service Road.  An estimated 10 million pets go missing every year with 6.5 million never being reunited with their owner.  Let us help you help your pet get back home.  Please bring your dog leashed.  Learn more at GrapevineAnimalServices.org.

Clear The Shelters – Saturday, August 26
On Saturday, August 26, shelters across the metroplex and the country will be celebrating Clear the Shelters.  Grapevine Animal Services will participate with waived adoption fees on Saturday, August 26.
