Grapevine Public Library To Celebrate 100 Years
Cheers to 100 years! You are invited to celebrate the Grapevine Public Library’s Centennial Celebration on Saturday, March 4 beginning at 10:30 am in the Library Program Room. Mayor William D. Tate will share memories from library history at 11 am, followed by a book signing. In honor of the Library’s 100 years, Mayor Tate has generously donated 100 copies of his recently published memoir to the Friends of the Library for their fundraiser. The books will be available for a $20 (cash or check only) donation and all proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Library. Library Board Member Megan Li will perform a harp concert at 2 pm and the celebratory day will conclude with a variety of children’s activities and entertainment from 3 to 5 pm. Congratulations to the Grapevine Public Library which has just been crowned with the ACHIEVEMENT OF EXCELLENCE IN LIBRARIES AWARD for 2022! Of the 542 public library systems in Texas, the Grapevine Public Library is one of only 73 that have earned this year’s award. With this honor, the Grapevine Library is now in the top 15% of all public libraries in the State of Texas. Proud to be the first sensory-inclusive certified library in the State of Texas, the Grapevine library offers 277, 829 physical volumes of books, and 53,189 electronic volumes. Friends of the Library Concert Series: Music of the West African Kora - Sunday, February 19
Sean Gaskell will give a performance and educational demonstration on the kora, an ancient 21-stringed harp from West Africa. He will feature traditional songs that are the heart and soul of the kora’s musical repertoire, in addition to some of his own personal compositions. All ages are welcome.

Texas Independence Day Celebration - Saturday, March 4
Mark your calendars for the annual celebration of Texas Independence Day hosted by the Grapevine Historical Society. 2023 marks the 200th anniversary of the Texas Rangers Law Enforcement Agency. They will bring their traveling road show exhibition to Grapevine with a program including former Texas Rangers and historians. Mayor Tate will speak at 2 pm. The exhibits, speakers and vehicles will celebrate 200 years of history in Texas.

The Dinos are Coming! – Prehistoric Park Tickets Available Now
The dinosaurs return to Grapevine this spring. LEARN about Grapevine’s prehistoric past while roaming through an outdoor exhibition of animatronic dinosaurs. DIG into the action and enjoy hands-on activities for the whole family. EXPLORE the biggest show yet, day or night! Activities include boneyard games, numerous exhibit displays, tracks trail, a dig site to discover bones of the past, and animatronic dinosaurs. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
