Veterans Day Parade and Fair – This Saturday, November 6 - FREE
Salute military veterans at the annual Veterans Day Parade in Historic Downtown Grapevine. Veterans and citizens are invited to experience this meaningful day, celebrating our country’s military servicemen and women. This year’s parade will honor and give thanks to those who have been presented a Purple Heart Medal for their selfless sacrifices and commendable actions. Purple Heart recipient, Vietnam veteran, Eric Newton, will serve as the parade’s Grand Marshal. Newton served as an armored vehicle driver with the 11th Armored Cavalry in 1968 - 1969 and received his medal for wounds sustained on November 26, 1968. Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, 24th Congressional District, will be presenting a Vietnam War Commemoration and a Congressional Veteran Commendation. Time: 10 am

The Veterans Day Fair will be hosted by VFW Post 10454 Grapevine and the City of Grapevine. There will be more than 15 organizations in attendance providing veteran services, programs, and benefits. Attendees will enjoy live music performed by Guitars for Heroes, an all-veteran band that is part of the Wounded Warrior Project. View military vehicles, enjoy great food from AMBUCS, and The Elks Lodge, participate in activities, and much more. Rediscover the magic of Christmas as we illuminate Historic Downtown Grapevine with or annual Carol of Lights, presented by Kona Ice, and Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck. The season will kick-off in the Christmas Capital of Texas® with live performances (including performances by Eclipse 6, CHHS Panteras and the GHS Fabulous Fillies), a spectacle of lights, and breathtaking fireworks at City Hall. Embrace the greatest time of the year with family-friendly activities such as photos with live reindeer, creating seasonal crafts, and savoring tasty food.
