CLOSURES: Due to icy roadway conditions, all City offices and facilities are closed this weekend. Please visit GrapevineTexasUSA.com for a listing of all hospitality closures and/or delayed openings.
In the event of an emergency, dial 911. All essential services continue to operate normally, but response times may be longer due to icy roadway conditions.
As colder temperatures are upon us, residents are encouraged to take simple steps to prepare for winter weather and reduce potential impacts to people, pets, homes, and essential services. The information below is provided as a resource to help residents plan and stay informed.
Protect People, Pets, Pipes, and Plants:
- Turn off all irrigation sprinklers
- Drip faucets during extended freezes
- Open cabinet doors beneath sinks to allow warm air circulation
- Cover or insulate outdoor faucets
- Bring outdoor pets, indoors
- Protect sensitive plants with coverings or move them indoors when possible
- NEVER use a gas generator INDOORS
Energy & Utility Information - Periods of extreme cold can increase energy demand.
Residents may consider:
- Adjusting thermostats slightly
- Limiting the use of large appliances during peak hours
- Turning off unnecessary lights and electronics
Power Outage Preparedness:
- Charging mobile devices and battery packs
- Ensuring flashlights are in working order
- Keeping extra batteries accessible
Outages should be reported directly to the appropriate provider. Residents are encouraged to remain aware of safety guidelines related to electrical equipment and power lines.

Trash & Recyclables Collection - Once Republic Services makes us aware of their collection schedule for early next week, we will share that information.
Sanding Trucks - Our public works crews are working around the clock through this weather incident. Sanding trucks will continue to treat our intersections and elevated roadways.

Travel Considerations - Residents are encouraged to use caution. Do not travel unless necessary. Avoid unnecessary trips when road conditions are hazardous. Bridges and overpasses will freeze before other roadway surfaces.
