life jackets on tree-lake people-700BORROW. SURVIVE. RETURN!

The Loan a Life Jacket stations have been put in place by the Grapevine Fire Department in an effort to prevent drowning incidents. This program encourages Grapevine Lake visitors to borrow a life jacket from one of the life jacket trees that have been put in place at various lake park locations.

All life jackets are to be worn while near or in the water and returned prior to leaving Grapevine Lake.

Available from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend each summer, loanable life jackets are available at the following locations:

- Lakeview Park, 2100 Lakeview Drive
- Meadowmere Park, 3000 Meadowmere Lane
- Oak Grove, 2520 Oak Grove Loop South
- Rockledge Park, 3600 Pilot Point
- Sand Bass Point, Sand Bass Drive
- Vineyards Campground & Cabins, 1501 N Dooley Street

The Grapevine Fire Department put the life jacket stations in place in memory of James McKenzie, a Grapevine firefighter/paramedic, and rescue diver who drowned at Grapevine Lake while off duty.  View the status of our City managed boat ramps on Grapevine Lake.
