Recruit Officer:
Police Officer/Recruit salaries start at $58,572.84 for a Recruit going to basic academy and $64,604.76 for a Police Officer.
Lateral Transfers:
A $10,000 hiring incentive is being offered for TCOLE licensed peace officers with at least two years of experience (post FTO) at a Texas law enforcement agency. The incentive will be paid as follows:
- $5,000 paid upon hire
- $2,500 paid upon successful completion of Field Training Program
- $2,500 paid upon completion of a successful (passing evaluation) probationary period
Candidates from other agencies may be allowed to enter the City's STEP pay schedule at a level of up to six years experience, putting the salary range at: $67,828-$78,519, in addition to the hiring bonus and extra incentive pay for higher-level TCOLE certificates.
Officers with two years, post-academy, Peace Officer experience and a TCOLE License start at $67,828.80.
Officers with three years, post-academy, Peace Officer experience or more and a TCOLE License start at $71,219.16.
Officers with four years, post-academy, Peace Officer experience or more and a TCOLE License start at $74,796.84.
Officers with five or more years, post-academy, Peace Officer experience or more and a TCOLE License start at $78,519.96.

Longevity Pay:
$4 per month times years of service, up to 25 years
Incentive Pay:
$50 per month for an Intermediate TCOLE Certificate
$75 per month for an Advanced TCOLE Certificate
$110 per month for a Master TCOLE Certificate
Court Pay:
Required court appearances paid at 1.5 times
Retirement:
TMRS at 20 years
City match 2:1

Emergency Communications Specialist New Hire Incentive:
In an effort to attract qualified Emergency Communications Specialist (Dispatcher) applicants, the following program is being implemented by the City of Grapevine:
- $600 paid upon hire ($300 for part-time)
- $300 paid upon completion of a successful (passing evaluation) initial probationary period ($150 for part-time)
- $300 paid upon completion of a successful (passing evaluation) 1-year period ($150 for part-time)
Regular, full-time Emergency Communciations Specialists will be paid $52,208 - $73,091 a year depending on experience.
