[ARCHIVED] Motorcycle Rodeo

Spokes 4 Hope Motorcycle Rodeo

Grapevine Police are proud to join other surrounding law enforcement agencies September 8-11, 2021, in hosting a Back the Blue Motorcycle Rodeo benefitting Spokes 4 Hope, which provides bicycles to children in need. The public is invited to come out to Grapevine Mills (lot 1B) to watch officers compete.

Police motorcycle skills competitions increase an officer's aptitude to safely perform their job in real-life conditions, such as being faced with emergency riding situations. The goal is to build skills and confidence while experiencing the effects of adrenaline. Officers who compete on a regular basis have a better chance of succeeding against adversity.

Spectators play an intricate role in this process. The presence of a crowd creates additional stress on officers to perform to the best of their ability.

Competitors would love for everyone to attend this free event. The Grapevine Motors team will be competing against 100 other officers from several different states. They love seeing our local support, and also appreciate how it will help all officers perform their best under pressure!

Wednesday and Thursday are practice days, so officers can see the cone patterns for competition. Friday and Saturday the actual competitions begin -- this is when teams really need your support! There are also several events planned for Saturday to honor the victims and survivors of 9/11.

You can see the action each day between 8am and 5pm.
