[ARCHIVED] Park Safety

Parks

As we all make an effort to stay home and stay encouraged, Grapevine Police know many families are also utilizing our parks and trails to engage in physical activity.  You may notice extra officers driving by when you’re out.  The Grapevine Police Department has increased patrols at parks and schools in an effort to keep everyone safe and prevent vandalism.  Please remember that while many open spaces and trails are accessible to the public, areas like playgrounds, enclosed fields, sport courts, and many parking lots are closed.  GPD continues to ask that people maintain social distancing and keep at least six feet away from others who are not in the same household.  This also means no organized sports or team activities.  Grapevine Police officers will respond to any reports of groups gathering, so they can help educate everyone on proper social distancing.

99% of Grapevine residents live within a few minutes of a park or trail, so it is highly encouraged that everyone will opt to walk or bike to the nearest park, rather than drive. If you do use your vehicle to reach a park, please make sure you are legally parked and not in a No Parking zone. Some streets, including the entrance to Parr Park, do not have public parking on the roadway.  To find a park or trail near you visit: GoGrapevine.com/Explore.

We appreciate our Grapevine community for helping us spread the message and doing your part to keep everyone healthy and safe. We are always here if you need us.
