Grapevine Police Officers and Dispatchers earned top honors from the Department at the 2017 Grapevine Police Awards Banquet.  Each year, officers and personnel are recognized for outstanding service throughout the year.  Awards include Commendations, Special Service, Life Saving, Educational Achievement, and Medals of Honor and Valor.  This year, 22 Officers and Dispatchers received awards in the following categories:


Life Saving: (Awarded for actions which are substantially responsible for the preservation of a human life)

Sr. Ofc. Kurt Kmak, Sr. Ofc. Adam Johnson, Ofc. Philip Wolan, Ofc. Chris McAleer, Ofc. Jonathan Vermeulen


Commendation: (Awarded for a specific outstanding and commendable act or for outstanding job performance in an assignment that brings credit to the officer and the department)

Sr. Ofc. Brian Hintz, Sr. Ofc. Trey Toney, Sr. Ofc. Ryan Sayre, Ofc. Daniel McClain, Ofc. Brandon Phifer, Ofc. Joe Duer


Certificate of Merit: (Awarded for a specific meritorious act or for meritorious performance in completing an assignment that clearly deserves recognition)

Lt. Ron Hudson, Sr. Ofc. Duane Stubblefield, Sr. Ofc. Brent Hartsell, Sr. Ofc. Adam Johnson, Ofc. Chris Taylor, Ofc. Daniel McClain, Ofc. Brian Watts, Ofc. Eric Barch, Ofc. Joseph Moeller, Billy Howerton


Chief's Special Service: (Honoring department personnel for a special achievement or service.  This award may bear a unique design commemorating the achievement and may be presented to honor personnel department-wide)

Sr. Ofc. Christina O'Rear, Robin Herzig


Community/Civic Service: (For Employees who have volunteered time and effort to community and charitable organizations beyond the call of duty in respect to their departmental duty assignments)

Ofc. Ivan Bozovic


In addition to honoring Department personnel for outstanding service, the Awards Banquet is also a time to celebrate the men and women who choose to serve and protect the community.  Prizes are given out as an extra special 'thank you' to our Blue family.  The prizes would not be possible without donations and gifts from local businesses, churches, and charitable organizations.  Special recognition and thanks goes out to all of this year's banquet donors:
