Proposition A - Animal Shelter & Adoption Center

The Animal Shelter renovation and expansion would enhance the environment for all sheltered animals while providing safe working conditions for the caretakers. Enhancements would ease and improve cleaning and maintenance of all pet kennels and provide additional space for the health, safety and comfort of the animals, staff and volunteers. The original shelter was built in 1992 and is 2,856 square feet. The expanded/renovated shelter would be 9,664 square feet and remain at the same location. The total cost of the project is $3.9 million.

Proposition B - Grapevine Fire Stations 2 & 3 Relocation/Reconstruction

Fire Stations 2 and 3 were originally constructed in 1981 and 1982 respectively with 3,000 square feet of space at each facility and bays for three fire apparatus. At the time of construction, these facilities met the needs of the community and met then-modern industry standards. Over time, changes in the size of firefighting apparatus and demographics of the fire service and community have driven the need for larger stations. New stations would be adequately sized for current and future apparatus, provide living quarters for both male and female firefighters and meet the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. New fire stations in both of these areas would also offer efficient entry and exit of modern sized fire apparatus. The total project cost is $16 million.

Fire Station 2

In addition, the new Fire Station 2, which would be located at the southeast corner of Dove Road and North Kimball Avenue, would provide a back-up dispatch center for police and fire in the event that the main dispatch center was disabled. The facility would measure 13,660 square feet.

Fire Station 3

Fire Station 3 would be built on Timberline Drive, adjacent to Timberline Elementary and would accommodate its response area at approximately 14,660 square feet. This fire station would also include a modern Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) Compressor and accommodate future growth. Location of an SCBA Compressor would provide a place for firefighters in South Grapevine to refill their SCBAs without going far from their districts and impacting service. This facility would be designed with input from Grapevine-Colleyville ISD so that it does not impact school operations.

Proposition C - Grapevine Golf Course Clubhouse and Concourse

The current Clubhouse was constructed in 1978 with the Concourse having been completed shortly thereafter. The current facility provides the community with a very basic level of golf services and has become very dated. The proposed Clubhouse project would provide a multi-purpose facility to be used as a banquet hall and meeting space, include a restaurant and would also serve the golf community with an updated Clubhouse, pro shop, locker room and other associated amenities. The total project cost is $4.8 million.
